      2015 Documentation:

- I communicate with parents through email, class blog (http://room8explorers.blogspot.co.nz/ ) and this year implemented the use of Seesaw an e-learning portfolio. I have continued to have a communication box at the top of my Homework sheets. This gives parents a basic update with the current events happenings ofthe class and the school as a whole.

- Seesaw has opened up sharing of school and home, it is an e-learning portfolio which is driven by students. Students upload pictures of their learning and videos and this is shared with their parents. I am able to access all content and give students feedback on work they have uploaded. Parents are also able to give feedback to their children and students can share work and comment on their peers work.

- The syndicate newsletter is a way of informing parents/whanau whats comming up in the term across the syndicate, this goes home during the first week of each term. The newsletter has now taken the shape of a PDF document which is emailed to all parents and has a link to each class blog.

- Students receive oral and written feedback. In terms of writing we have used a team teaching apprach, this involves writing workshops with each of the different teachers accross the syndicate. Teachers have made a conscious effort to provide written feedback in the students writing books, this gives students feedback and assists them in making choices about what workshop to attend next.

- This year the teachers in my syndicate have started to use Google Drive and Google Docs more. We are able to share and collaborate ideas leading to a more open line of communication. The syndicate minutes, long term plans, planning and other documents are available for everyone to view and share. All shared resources are uploaded onto Google Drive for everyone to use.

- Google Drive has been an excellent way to share resources with other teachers. I have used Google Drive to share resources with teachers from Indonesia.

Here is a group of amazing teachers from St John's School in Jakarta. I have made a connection with a group of teachers that are keen to learn about NZ education.

2014 Documentation:

- I have a box at the top of the homework sheet that important notices, upcoming events so parents know. I also have my email on the weekly homework sheet.

- Email is the main form of communication I have with all the parents as they can email me during the weekend, evenings.

- I have informal chats to parents in the morning/afternoon when they are dropping or picking up their child.

- Oral feedback is given during Maths/Reading because this is direct and students can act on this. Writing feedback has been part of my Ariki.

- At syndicate meetings term 1-2 we had time allocated for sharing of resources. In term 3-4 we have shared resources and ideas when they have arisen. We also have a year 3-4 syndicate folder in google docs where we share templates and resources.
